The marine layer is burning off faster and the sun is showing itself more in Orange County as we make our way into summer. It’s one of the best places to be during this time of year. The beaches are filled with people enjoying the sun on their face and the ocean breeze in their hair from Newport to San Clemente. In addition to the droves of people at the beach, there are tons of great events happening for adults and families all over Orange County. It’s hard to pick a few events since there are so many great ones going on all summer long, but here are a few events this summer in Orange County that are worth experiencing.

Orange County Fair – July 12 – August 11, 2019
Orange County Fairgrounds
The Orange County Fair is a fun event for families, couples and friends. Running for a month starting in July, the Orange County Fair brings all sorts of different vendors to the fairgrounds. You can find local restaurants and food trucks with delicious offerings. There are also fair favorites like deep fried Twinkies and deep fried Oreos. And don’t forget about the amazing live entertainment at the Pacific Amphitheater like Styx, The B-52s, and Smokey Robinson. It’s always a good time at the Orange County Fair. Bring your sunscreen and your comfortable shoes and spend a day wandering the fair. You won’t be disappointed.
Ocean Festival – July 20 & 21, 2019
San Clemente, CA
Every year, San Clemente puts on the “Greatest Show on Surf,” or The Ocean Festival. This festival attracts world class athletes, local residents and visitors from all over to take part in a family oriented beach experience. There are tandem boogie boarding and surfing competitions, swimming events for adults as well as a Lifeguard competition. If you have children, there are all kinds of things you can take your kids to do such as a concert at the beach, a fishing derby and a sand sculpting contest. There’s plenty of entertainment for everyone and whole lot of amazing action in the water at the Ocean Festival in San Clemente.
Pacific Wine and Food Classic – August 18 & 19, 2019
Newport Beach, CA
The Pacific Wine and Food Classic was voted one of the 10 Best Food Festivals in North America and is the winner of The LA Times Best Event in OC 2018, and it happens right here in Orange County. Foodies from all over the world will join other food and wine lovers to participate in one of the culinary events of the year. Brilliant local chefs will be serving summer inspired dishes and there are more than 150 wines to try as well as cold beer and delicious craft cocktails. The Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort hosts this event and you get to enjoy all of these things on the beautiful beach.
Festival of Arts – July 5 – August 31, 2019
Laguna Beach, CA
If you have a love and appreciation for art, if you’re creative or your kids show signs of creativity, this would be a great event to go to. More than 140 local artists make up the Festival of Arts in Laguna Beach. Their one of a kind work is put on display for everyone to appreciate during the festival. There’s also live music and a slew of other things going on like Art Talks and Tea as well as Festival Runway Fashion. And there’s plenty for the kids to do! From art workshops to Family Art Day, kids can embrace their creativity at the Festival of Arts.
